Well this just sucked. We decided to send flowers to the three special Moms in our lives for Mother's Day. We live overseas and were drawn to Bloomex by their prices and promise of good service. The transaction started off fine. Our sales rep was patient and helpful and placed the three separate orders efficiently: roughly $160 worth of flowers, with the three separate delivery charges factored in. Not terrible.
The problem arose when we found out that one of the Moms would be away for a week, leaving on Mother"s Day. We decided to cancel the order. George, the online chat rep, helped us with the refund, although it took a very long time. He seemed reluctant, and was trying to persuade us to change the date. The main problem is that these flowers were to be for Mother's Day and his solution was for us to send them almost a week early. No thanks.
He finally processed the cancellation and refund for one of the three orders.
When I followed up a day later I found that only a portion of the order had been refunded. I followed up again via live chat, this time with a rep named Ben. Ben was not helpful. He informed us that we had been refunded for the order but that Bloomex charges a $25 cancellation fee. George didn't mention anything about the fee, despite our lengthy conversation the night before. And despite the fact that we still have two orders outstanding, Ben refused to budge on the policy, hence this crappy review.
The bottom line is this: if you have a policy that will affect the customer, make sure to mention it, especially when it is directly relevant to the situation. If George had taken the time to explain the policy at the time of cancellation, we would have had no choice but to accept it. We may have inquired about waiving it, based on the other business we had given Bloomex but ultimately would have accepted it. No one likes to be blind-sided though, which is how we felt.
Anyway, given the choice, we will not deal with these guys again. Ben was bordering on smug during our live chat and when I finally wished him less than favorable tidings at the end of our chat (out of frustration), he opted to end the conversation with "LOL." That sealed it and this review.
Take my advice: take your business elsewhere. After reading the rest of these reviews I'll be surprised if our flowers arrive at all. These guys suck.
