Same day delivery? Flowers sent from over 400KM away?

I recently ordered flowers from bloomex .ca and had a horrible experience. I ordered them for same day delivery and PAID extra for it. Several hours after I ordered them I received another email stating that they WOULD NOT be delivered same day, but rather the following day. My Anniversary is only one day Bloomex ... I contacted them and they had nothing more to say other than they we in transit, FROM VANCOUVER, over 400KM away. Seriously? Why would they ship flowers that distance? No wonder they couldnt get them here same day? And to top it off its going to be a fight to get the delivery charges refunded. BUYER BEWARE.
